Arsenal 0 – 3 Chelsea — traumatised by Drogba
There are so called bogey teams, those that always seem to get a result against us, looking at the results of the past 12 clashes Chelsea is surely that team. More than just a bogey team, in Didier Drogba we surely have a bogey player.

Drogba opens the scoring, claims he is lucky
The propensity for the mainstream media to resort to tried and true stereotypes is palpable and in their infinite wisdom it came down to men against boys, Chelsea’s physical prowess easily swatting aside Arsenal’s delicate beauty. That however is a disservice to both teams, Chelsea was tactically astute and executed their manager’s gameplan, Arsenal didn’t.
We we not sharp, strong, smart enough up front. Chelsea was relatively comfortable in handling our forwards, they were well organised and this was the one area where the physical difference showed us up.
We controlled the midfield completely, not only were we smarter in the middle but we were stronger. Converting that midfield prowess into attacking/scoring opportunities was a different story, once we got into the final third their organisation snuffed us out.
Ashley Cole has become a much better player, he hurt us. Sagna wasn’t up to his expected standard, it can be argued that he was up against it today against both Anelka and Ashley Cole. Neither Nasri nor Arshavin did much to help, until Walcott appeared in the second half and pinned back Ashley Cole, Chelsea had an awful lot of freedom on their left flank. That was Walcott only real contribution.
Good delivery in the box is always dangerous, a slight touch from anyone can result in a goal. Chelsea had that delivery courtesy A.Cole. What did we have? Well even the greatest delivery in the world wouldn’t have mattered, none of our forwards would have been able to get near any crosses.
Chelsea wasn’t 3 goals better than us, but that’s what happens when you take your chances. The first goal was always going to make the difference, and after Chelsea went up all they had to do was keep organised at the back something they are very adept at.
So what now? In reality the two points dropped against West Ham and the three against Sunderland is what makes the difference in the league. Games against the top four can always go in any direction and there’s no reason why we can’t win at Stamford Bridge. Unfortunately even if we go on an amazing winning run — which is entirely possible— we are now dependent on other teams dropping points.
