Beware of fat man bearing gifts.
As expected during the summer football break there’s nothing really going on in the world of Arsenal, except for the routine rounds of rumours and conjecture. There is the usual stuff about Cesc and Barcelona nothing new there, the samey who to buy advice for Wenger, all seeming to come from that most dependable of sources —championship manager —.
I read an Article on who to watch in the under-21 championship only to realise that it was sponsored by said championship manager. Infact I’m willing to bet any similar article is conjured by firing up the game, look up the top rated players out of those taking part in the tournament and bada-bing there’s your report. Only if my job was so easy— anyway I digress.
The Mail thanks to Charles Sale— who by the way seems to be the main vehicle for Red and White holdings propaganda — has this absurd article touting Usmanov’s rights issue proposal to the board, passing it off as a good opportunity for fans to purchase shares at a knock down price. All part of an attempt by Usmanov to ingratiate himself with Arsenal fans.
Oh yea Rosicky claims he was fit enough to have played some games at the end of last season, but the management wouldn’t risk him. If that’s true I’m not sure it was a good call on their part.
I’d much rather they had played him for a few games towards the end of the season when our league position was already prescribed. If he didn’t come through then it would be better to have known then, rather than at he beginning of the season.
For those of us who still need a football fix to keep us going, there is the under-21 game this evening and if so inclined there’s is Brazil v Egypt streamed live on BBC sport. There is an interesting read on the BBC site about the infamous fixture computer.
Like I said there’s really nothing going on, hopefully any time soon Arsenal.com will announce the signing of 2 super, super, players, who will definitely make the team better and sate our appetite for signings.
Let me know your thoughts in the comment section, it would be a good idea to add Wengerball to your feed reader so you don’t miss a post, or you could follow wengerball on the twitter thingy. Thanks for stopping by.
