Injuries continue to mount
Uber cunt David Bentley has been spouting off again, offering “advice” to Theo Walcott. Is there a modicum of regret from David? He just can’t seem to help himself when it come to Arsenal, a team he chose to leave more than 3 years ago. I wonder if Theo would rather play in a half empty stadium, fighting for mid table glory or coming off the bench as an 18 year old making an impact in packed european stadiums.
Wenger was quick to rebuke Bentley saying
“I don’t give a big importance to his opinion. I believe what is important is that Walcott progresses well. Bentley is entitled to his opinions but it doesn’t mean he’s right. I don’t know why one player should incite another to leave his club.”
He added
What is important is what the player really wants. When you are at one of the biggest clubs in the world you have to accept competition. If you accept it, competition makes you better.”
“If you move down you’re not at the top. I believe Theo will establish himself here. People forget he is still very young. At 18 it is very difficult to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world in a regular position.”
Damn right Arsene
Everyone journo and his dog picked up this story, I wonder if they bother to actually do any research other than reading blogs.
And the injuries continue to mount with Denilson(hamstring) and Walcott(thigh) picking up injuries during a closed door very friendly match yesterday. We are now extremely short of midfielders for the Wigan game, with only Cesc, Gilberto, Fabregas, and Hleb available. On the positive side RVP should be available.
We’ll be alright, just hope none of our players pick up injuries on that wonderful JJB pitch.
