Jack Wilshere or Nacer Barazite

Barazite gives Arsenal the win
Ask the average fan who is the best player to come out of the youth system this season and the answer you’ll most likely get is Jack Wilshere, put the same question to someone who’ve watched reserve team football and you’ll be guaranteed a different answer, most likely Nacer Barazite.
After watching last night’s game I am now more convinced that Barazite is the better player. There is no doubt that Wilshere is extremely talented, and has the ability to mix it up with the big boys. It is clear that he also has a lot to learn, which is understandable at his age.
Even with his amazing technique, strength and and eye for goal (top scorer for reserves and U18) he finds himself taking a back seat to Wilshere. However disappointing it may be for Nacer not being in the first team, it could work out in his advantage.
Wenger has stated before that going out on loan is the next stage of development for his youth. Hopefully Nacer will go out and get to play regularly, which can be just a good as training with the first team and sitting on the bench. If not then a good showing in the Carling cup could do the trick.
The cynic in me thinks that giving Wilshere a first team place is a bit political, the opportunity to put some english talent on display was too seductive for Wenger to pass up. After the Juventus game Wenger remarked,
”Don’t let anyone reproach me for not playing English players.”
clearly alluding to Wilshere’s inclusion in the squad.
Whatever it is one thing we can all agree on is that if our youth programme continues to churn out talent like Wilshere then all the better for Arsenal FC.
