Perhaps determined not to have a repeat of Standard Liege, Arsenal came out with all guns blazing. Unfortunately the gun-sights were not correctly calibrated.

It would be wrong to say that the players might have suddenly discovered a magic formula over the off-season break, but Arsenal has so far showed an edge to their game that they didn’t have at the same time last year.

After the debacle of Craven Cottage, last night’s game was just what the doctor ordered. Arsenal had a 2 goal advantage going in the game so getting to the group stages was not an issue, the question was what kind of performance would we get from the Arsenal?
