Bordering on perfection
When Cesc Fabregas scored in the 84th minute, it was no less than we deserved. When Walcott teared down the right into the box and but in a pass for Adebayor to tap in it marked a passing of the baton.

That Arsenal had to negotiate the toughest of ties was universally accepted, AC Milan had become synonymous with Champions league excellence. The notion that we could go to the San Siro and get a result was universally doubted, we had been struggling in the premier league and could not score at home in the first leg.
In the build up Arsene Wenger had talked about his team having all the qualities to prevail in Milan, the important thing was to make use of those qualities when it was needed. What we got last night was a performance that embodied everything that we love about this current Arsenal team. So complete was Arsenal dominance in the end the home supporters applauded them off
Wenger said:
“It was a perfectly-executed performance, exactly the game we wanted to play. We closed them down and didn’t give them time.”
“We played with authority, maturity and talent.”
Just when it became de rigeur to write off Arsenal’s season on the back of a few points dropped, the team seemed to have remembered how good they actually are. They’ve answered the critics with a victory of such class and elegance that the same critics are now marking them down as champions.
